RADical is RadsForVets’ custom-built platform for submitting cases, tracking status, and retrieving reports. Those functions describe the study’s process. They should remain distinct from the clinic’s assessment of whether the interpretation has been reviewed, explained, or acted on for the patient.

This distinction matters even when a report is easy to locate. The ACVR describes the radiologist’s role in interpretation and consultation. [1] The treating team still owns patient-specific care decisions. The suggestions below concern clinic-side use of study information; they do not claim that RADical automatically assigns tasks or verifies completed clinical actions.

Start with the specific study

Identify the patient and the examination being followed. A patient name alone may not distinguish multiple studies. Use the examination date, region, and modality to connect the status discussion to the intended case. These are suggested record checks, not claims about a particular search interface or filter.

Keep current and prior material distinguishable. When asking a process question, specify the study rather than referring broadly to “the patient’s report.” This gives the Operations Team a clearer description of the issue the clinic is trying to understand.

Read status as process information

RADical supports case-status tracking. Use that information to understand the study’s process without treating it as a statement about the animal’s clinical condition. This article does not introduce or define undocumented status labels. Confirm any process question with the Operations Team rather than infer a clinical meaning.

An administrative state and a clinical assessment answer different questions. The clinic should separately establish whether a veterinarian has reviewed the interpretation and what patient-specific action is planned. The platform’s case information should not be used as a substitute for that documented review.

Retrieve the source interpretation

RADical supports report retrieval. Once the interpretation is available, open the actual report and read the conclusion and supporting findings. Finding a document is not the same as understanding its recommendations. Keep the source interpretation available through the practice’s normal record process.

RadsForVets reports inject into the matching radiology order in ezyVet and Instinct. Those are the currently connected systems; confirm current availability with the Operations Team as the supported list grows. Matching-order delivery helps locate the report, but does not prove that clinical review has occurred.

Record the clinic’s review separately

The practice can identify who will review the report and document the resulting assessment. This is local responsibility, not automatic task assignment claimed for RADical. Distinguish the report’s wording from the clinician’s interpretation of its relevance and the next action chosen for the animal.

If review raises an interpretation question, use “Clinic and Radiologist” Real-Time Chat. If the issue concerns submission or report delivery, use the Operations Team conversation. Keeping those requests distinct helps the record show whether the clinic is waiting for explanation or resolving a process issue.

Do not equate conversation closure with patient follow-up

Real-Time Chat includes a Resolved status. It describes the conversation, not a patient outcome. A answered workflow question may close an administrative discussion while clinical responsibilities remain open. The clinic should identify those responsibilities through its own process.

For a handoff, note the source report, any clarification, and the remaining patient-care action. Avoid relying on a status alone to communicate what a colleague must do next. The clinical record should show the decision and its owner in language the next veterinarian can understand.

Keep the two tracks visible

A practical local review separates study process from clinical follow-through. The first asks where the submission or report stands. The second asks what the treating veterinarian understood, decided, and completed. Neither track should be silently substituted for the other.

The custom-built platform supports submission, tracking, and retrieval. The practice uses that information while retaining responsibility for review and patient care. Clear separation avoids implying that report availability, a matching order, or a resolved conversation automatically establishes a completed clinical plan.

Frequently asked questions

What does RADical support for a study?

RADical supports submitting cases, tracking status, and retrieving reports. No additional automated clinic task features are claimed in this article.

Does study status describe the patient’s condition?

Do not treat process information as a clinical assessment. The treating veterinarian assesses the animal and documents the patient-care plan separately.

Does an available report prove it has been reviewed?

No. The practice should document clinical review and the chosen next action through its own process.

Where do connected PIMS reports appear?

RadsForVets reports inject into the matching radiology order in ezyVet and Instinct. Confirm current supported-system availability with the Operations Team.

Does a Resolved conversation mean care is complete?

No. Resolved is a Real-Time Chat conversation status, not proof of a clinical outcome or completed follow-up.

Who should handle a report-location question?

Address submission and report-delivery process questions to the Operations Team, identifying the specific study.
