Use cases
Who uses vet teleradiology, and for what
Veterinary teleradiology brings a board-certified radiologist into any practice that acquires images, without hiring one in-house. Here is how different practices use it.
General practice
Thoracic and abdominal radiographs, lameness workups, senior screening and oncology staging. A board-certified read supports the plan without referring the patient out just for interpretation.
Emergency hospitals
Trauma, acute abdomen and respiratory distress cases that turn on the images. STAT and Wet Read put a radiologist's answer behind the decision while the patient is still on the treatment floor.
Urgent care centers
Walk-in volume, long hours and shift changes. Answers while the patient is still in the building, and reports that lead with the conclusion.
Teleradiology for urgent careSurgical and specialty practices
Pre-operative CT and MR, foreign body localization and orthopedic studies. Reports that support surgical planning and a radiologist available to discuss the images.
Multi-doctor and multi-location groups
One consistent standard of interpretation across every doctor and every location, with reports landing in the matching radiology order in ezyVet and Instinct.
Mobile and relief veterinarians
Imaging done on the road or during a relief shift still gets a board-certified read, with no contracts, no minimums and nothing to schedule.

From image to report in four steps
- 1
Acquire and upload

- 2
Choose a priority
Standard, STAT or Wet Read, depending on how soon the next decision needs an answer.
- 3
A board-certified read
An ACVR- or ECVDI-certified radiologist interprets the study, with Real-Time Chat open on the case.
- 4
The report arrives
Impression on top, comprehensive findings below, often with a video, and injected into ezyVet or Instinct.
What your doctor sees first

The client conversation
Helping clients understand the images
Clients decide on treatment, surgery or referral based on what they understand. When a report includes the radiologist's video walking through the images, your doctor has a clear way to show what was found and why the next step makes sense.
Video is included in many reports, not every one. If you need one for a specific case, let our Operations Team know.

Veterinary teleradiology FAQs
What is veterinary teleradiology?
Veterinary teleradiology is the remote interpretation of veterinary imaging studies. Your clinic acquires the images, uploads them, and a board-certified veterinary radiologist reads the study and returns a written report, so your practice has specialist interpretation without an in-house radiologist.
Is vet teleradiology the same as veterinary teleradiology?
Yes. Vet teleradiology is simply the shorter name for veterinary teleradiology: a board-certified veterinary radiologist reading your imaging studies remotely and sending back a report.
What should we look for in veterinary teleradiology providers?
Look for board-certified radiologists on every case, clear turnaround times by modality, a choice of priorities, reports that are easy to act on, a fast way to ask the radiologist questions, integration with your practice software, and terms that fit your caseload. RadsForVets offers ACVR- or ECVDI-certified reads, Standard, STAT and Wet Read priorities, impression-on-top reports, Real-Time Chat, ezyVet and Instinct integration, and no contracts or minimums.
How do we switch to a new vet teleradiology provider?
With RadsForVets there is no contract to sign and nothing to schedule. Talk to our team, get portal access and start on your next study. Your current imaging equipment stays the same.
Who reads the studies at RadsForVets?
Every case, STAT or not, is read by an ACVR- or ECVDI-certified radiologist from a global team of radiologists.
What turnaround times does RadsForVets offer?
STAT X-ray and Fluoroscopy reports within 1 hour, STAT CT, Ultrasound and MR within 4 hours, and Standard within 24 hours. Wet Read is the fastest option, read while you wait. STAT and Wet Read turnaround is not guaranteed for exotics, which are read on a 24-hour best-effort basis.
What is a Wet Read?
A wet-read is one where the clinic submits targeted, indication-specific questions which are specifically addressed by the radiologist. The clinic can request that the radiologist either make a call, or send a 'wet-read' report. The same radiologist will provide the comprehensive final report before shift's end.
Which modalities and species do you read?
X-ray, Fluoroscopy, CT, Ultrasound and MR for dogs, cats and exotics.
How do we ask the radiologist a question about a case?
Use Real-Time Chat on the study. It reaches the radiologist in seconds, with no busy signal, voicemail, email or hold, and separate tabs connect your team with the radiologist and with the Operations Team.
Do reports go into our practice software?
Reports are injected into the matching radiology order in ezyVet and Instinct, and RadsForVets is steadily adding to that list of PIMS systems.
Are there contracts or minimum volumes?
No. There are no contracts and no minimums. You can start on your next study.
